Here’s a great story posted to our Your Boots contest: Two-and-a-half years ago I put my hand through a table saw at work. My girlfriend convinced me to buy a pair of lace free Blundstone boots because I wouldn’t be able to tie up my boots for a while. Since we were downtown, (Toronto, Canada), we also stopped by city hall to obtain a marriage license. I wanted to marry this woman right away; she took care of me when I got hurt, and introducing me to Blundstone boots was part of that. (We were married 30 days later). Larissa and I just had our first child, and I’m still wearing the boots that started it all!
We’ll miss you Jana! Thanks for an awesome 5 1/2 years. Your endless enthusiasm and positive energy have been such a big part of the vancouver boot store. We all wish you all the best in the next big adventure.

I’m pretty sure Blundstone boots saved my left foot.
My wife and I have been in Blundstone boots for over 15 years. We love them. Two years ago, my bike and I met a taxicab in what screaming eyewitnesses thought was sure to be a cycling fatality. I escaped with only soft tissue damage, and my Blundstone boots 500’s (a city cycling must) were a big part of that miracle. With the front of that cab finally stopping at around my hips, I realized that I was still alive (!), and that the tip of my left foot was trapped under the cab’s front tire, still safely inside its Blundstone boot! That left boot had flipped upside down, the upper enduring a drag across 2 metres of gravel-strewn pavement, and all with a cab on it! Imagine what my toes would have looked like if it hadn’t held! My Blundstone boots weren’t really fit for the office anymore, but the insurance company wouldn’t pay for new ones unless I gave up the pair that had saved me! …I couldn’t do it. I haven’t worn these boots very much since then – bad memories – but our 17-year-old son does. He finds the 500’s just as comfortable as I did (and he thinks that the scarred left boot is truly badass). Today I pulled on the boots just to run out to the car for something. Man!, I miss them… Thanks Blundstone boots; I’m pretty sure your boots saved my left foot.

Check out our window at Queen Street, informing customers what’s going on.
It reads:
Australian Boot Company will be closed temporarily due to a fire on a neighbouring deck allegedly caused by a wayward cigarette butt. A little too close foe comfort, but thankfully, there were no injuries to man, woman, beast or boot.
We plan to re-open in August with the best selection of Blundstone, R.M.Williams and UGG boots in Canada.
In the meantime, please visit our Australian Boot Company store opposite Sporting Life at 2644 Yonge Street for the same great selection. Open Monday – Friday 10-7, Saturdays 10-6 and Sundays 12-5

Check out the Trailer for Scott Pilgrim vs The World
The movie was shot in Toronto, as the Casa Loma scene and the TTC bus suggest, and a lot of scenes were shot just on Manning Ave, the street facing our Toronto store. So watch out for our Queen Street store in some of the scenes in the movie and see if you can spot it!
Also, there are a few characters sporting Blundstone Boots in the movie, so watch the feet and let us know if you catch anyone wearing them.
Roger attended Blundstone’s Boot it Up fundraiser in 2005, and ever since has been a part of the event, from designing boots to helping to planning the event. His sense of humour and talents were an asset to our team.
Rogers’ ‘arted-up’ Blundstone Boots were the first boots (pictured above) to sell for over $1000 at live auction. His support of our event, and of SKETCH is greatly appreciated.
Roger passed away last week, he was living with ALS, a progressive disease with no known cure. Our thoughts go out to his family – All of us at Blundstone Canada, and Australian Boot Company.
